So, I figured that I'd try to run Xenia through Proton instead.

Unfortunately, the native Linux build of Xenia is very much behind in development, compared to the Windows build, at this point in time.
Youll need to emulate if you want something more similar. Lost Odyssey runs great on the Steam Deck on Windows.

Along with a short list of other tweaking options that can be done in a patch applied to the emulator, like removing depth of field, Increase anti aliasing etc. You can also use Xenia to bump up the framerate to 60 aswell.

The original game renders at 720p, and on a big 4K TV, playing it on series X, it's certainly feeling its ages now. The bonuses of using Xenia is you can increase the Internal render resolution of the game, even just at double, it looks alot cleaner. Its lot more stable these days, and I believe lost odyssey can be played from start to finish now without issue. The other option that's possible is Xenia, the xbox 360 emulator. I can't say if it's on game pass or not, but it is avaliable to buy on the xbox store still. Playing it on the original 360 they were some places where the game would probably drop down to about 15fps. It doesn't have any resolution boost or frame rate boost like xbox have done with some of the other backwards compatibility games, but it does hold a solid 30fps if playing on the Xbox One or Series Console, and some load times between areas are naturally faster due to better hardware. It will play on all Xbox consoles through the Xbox backwards compatability.
Yeh, the game was a Xbox360 only title, its never been ported to any other system or had any re-releases.
